06 Feb Disrupt your Comfort Zone – Break Bad Patterns!
Over lunch my friend, and real-estate agent extraordinaire was telling me about a recent town hall meeting she attended regarding new residential growth in her neighborhood. Current residents were concerned about a new development coming in, citing more traffic and new traffic lights as an issue–a nuisance. I started thinking about how this mirrors our own personal growth and how hard it can be to break bad patterns.
Many times we want to make a change, or we start to break bad patterns, but the change causes disruption. We are so comfortable with what we already know, even if it’s bad for us, that we halt our own personal development.
Well, I’m here to tell you that change requires a DISRUPTION in your habitual pattern, and now is the best time to breaking those bad patterns!
If you want to make a change, then it’s time to SHAKE THINGS UP! Construct a new reality, know that there will be stop lights on the way, keep building the life you want anyway.
When the dust settles, you might just be living the life of your dreams.

Being habitual minimizes the exposure to new/different life experiences. Empathy and knowledge gains only occur with an aggregate of (needless to say, differing) life’s experiences. It’s difficult to open up to that notion, however, since no one prefers pain. Err, during the time of pain, that is. But the resultant is literally unimaginable!
