06 Mar Class Focus March 8th ’10 to March 22nd ’10: The Spine
Psssst! I’ll tell you the secret to almost every single yoga pose: CREATING SPACE WITHIN THE SPINE! Space in the spine equals levity, energy and freedom, and who doesn’t want a little more of those? We’ll be doing moon salutations for the first time in my class! Moon salutations warm the joints while stretching the entire body, creating a cooling effect. While sun salutations represent the hero’s journey stepping forward to face life’s challenges, the moon series enacts the journey of desent into one’s creativity and inspiration. Through lunges, squats, heart and spine openers, we’ll feel more grounded, open to emotions and joyful. Woo Woo! See you all there!

First off, what a beautiful space this is, second, Jess and I have really enjoyed the challenge the last few weeks. We have both commented on how neither one of us realized how complacent we’ve gotten in our practice, and this is had for me being a teacher. So once a gain thank you for the challenge and my legs were feeling it on Friday. We hope to make it again this Thursday for the second week of leg work. Keep up the great work. See on the matt.

Even though I work with steel all day long, my arms are really week when it comes to some poses. I don’t want to be all crazy buffed out, I just want some more muscle. How about some upper arm stuff. See you soon.

Posted at 20:17h, 29 MarchI had two requests for core (which will most certainly include upper arms) and inversions! So expect some of those at the studios next week! Thanks for the suggestion!

Great Website! I love the font they created for you and the Lotus/Moon ‘O’ is very cool. Wish you had a store on this site…would love to get a hat or something with that logo. I am listening to your playlist now with headphones at work..lol.
Are we still on Core for this week? If so, I know you mentioned inversions (my neck hurts just thinking about it), in addition, perhaps some poses that will tighten my caboose. I need strong glutes for running. See ya on the mat!

Posted at 12:34h, 05 AprilYes! We are on for core and inversions for the next two weeks. We’ll be doing Salamba Sirsasana (the king of all poses – Headstand), as well as Ahdo Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand). Woo Hoo! Don’t worry; there will be plenty of options! Thanks for the compliments on my site! My husband, Kevin is a graphic designer. You can check out his stuff on his website, idiominteractive.com. I helped design the lotus, so many thanks! If I get some T-shirts made, I’ll let you know.
