01 Jul Pranayama to Awaken Inner Meridians of Energy and Core Strength
Start seated on a block or a book (if you’re at home and don’t have a block) with arms low by your sides. Inhale, expand your belly as you lift your arms up an out to your sides as if you’re tracing the shape of very large bowl.
Exhale draw your hands in together beneath your navel, make two fists with knuckles touching and pull them up to the base of your sternum while drawing in your pelvic floor, (mula bandha),
As you inhale and draw your arms out, the motion is a reminder to allow your belly to relax and open up. As you exhale and draw your fists in and up, the motion is a reminder to activate your inner muscles and pelvic floor.
Utilize this breathwork when you need a little extra fire or oomph in your belly to meet your day head on, or right before your yoga practice. Ready, set, go! Repeat 5-10 times.
